This body is pre-1900, used and played with. This body came in its original crushed box, with bits and pieces of a bisque head. I believe the dress came on the doll, from the store. The trim on the clothing is coming off. It looks like most can be hand stitched back on. The dress has glass buttons with flowers and the fabric has bouquets with ribbons imprinted on it. Back closure is pins or hand stitch. Dress looks like it was made just for this body, it is more blue than grey. The under clothes are nice and high quality but not the same as the dress. Maybe added after the doll came home? She has pantaloons, double layer petticoat, and simple socks. Any clothing on the body, came on it, when I acquired it. It measures 23.5″ tall from center top to bottom of feet and 3.4″ thick/depth in center top where shoulder plate sits, 5.5 across the top of where plate sits. Body is sawdust filled and has STAYS in the inside front. Small tear on back of body, I have placed a piece of paper in, to help reduce sawdust leaking. Fingers and arms are splitting at the seams and batting filled. The arms are easy to fix, glue and tie together with ribbon until dry. After 40 years, I have fully changed from antique china heads to early dollhouses and their contents. Coin and ruler are for size indication only. Last photo shows the arms splits and the stays, especially the doll’s right side, under the fabric. Please look at all of the photos for a complete description. Not all FLAWS will be listed as there will be several small pin holes, spots and seams that are torn or resewn… I will try to list any flaw that I can easily see or that appears to be major.
