You are ordering this antique (1912 – 1923), Wiefel & Company, German made, bisque with leather body, open mouth with teeth, WWI era, girl doll with brown eyes and curly brown hair. This beautiful doll stands approximately 20″ tall and her shoulders are about 8.5″ wide. With nightgown, shoes, and a much later added stand marked “KEMPER” on the bottom. Marked: Mold number “250”, W&C. From the estate doll collection of an eastern North Carolina military family who traveled and lived abroad for much of their adult lives. By 1914 Wiefel’s manufacturing was shut down because of World War 1 and restarted again in 1918, although it doesn’t appear that bisque doll heads were resumed being made until around 1923.
