Bisque Head / Composition Body – Stands Approx. 20″ Tall – Marked: “Armand Marseille / Germany / 390 / A5M” This is a sweet-looking 20″ Armand Marseille 390 bisque-and-composition doll. She has brown lashed sleep eyes that work. The brown wig is full and in long curls. She is wearing an embroidered cotton drop-waist frock, 2-piece undergarments, and older socks and shoes. She’s in very nice condition, and at a good price. Beautiful antique condition — from a non-smoking environment. This doll had a small kiln split that has been professionally stabilized. It is located at the rear, base of her socket head. Otherwise, no issues found with the bisque after careful examination. IMPORTANT: Besides the noteworthy issues mentioned above, EXPECT any antique doll (bisque/composition/leather/china/wood) to ALSO have: (1) SIGNS OF AGE – for example: toned/crazed/chipped composition, minor wig pulls, loss of “hair” lashes on bisque heads, not-so-tight stringing, etc. (2) MINOR CONSERVATION WORK by previous owners/collectors – for example: reset eyes in most cases! , repairs to wig, repairs to clothing, touch-ups on composition/finish/paint, etc. Any MAJOR issues — hairline crack, total repaint, etc. – would be itemized above, but these normal age/conservation details are not.
