Original Antique Doll – Made in Germany. This character baby, whom I’ve named “Becca Joy, ” is just as cute as they come! She has such a lovely painted face with blushing dimpled cheeks, feathered eyebrows, and a happy mouth with two lower teeth and the tongue showing. Her head is made of pink slip/bisque, with brown sleep eyes and such an adorable blond mohair wig. She is on a five-piece composition slant-hip baby body that is in excellent condition. She comes dressed in an antique organdy dress with rickrack and added Black-eyed Susan accents. Pink bow and pink florets with pompoms on the socks complete this darling girl’s outfit! Beautiful antique condition — from a non-smoking environment. No issues noticed with the bisque after careful examination. The body is in excellent condition. There is a surface craze/crack on her right thigh, as pictured. The stringing is just a tad loose, but she is not meant to stand with this type of body, of course. She does sit nicely. IMPORTANT: Besides the noteworthy issues mentioned above, EXPECT any antique doll (bisque/composition/leather/china/wood) to ALSO have: (1) SIGNS OF AGE – for example: toned/crazed/chipped composition, minor wig pulls, loss of “hair” lashes on bisque heads, not-so-tight stringing, etc. (2) MINOR CONSERVATION WORK by previous owners/collectors – for example: reset eyes in most cases! , repairs to wig, repairs to clothing, touch-ups on composition/finish/paint, etc. Any MAJOR issues — hairline crack, total repaint, etc. – would be itemized above, but these normal age/conservation details are not.
