Vintage German Hertwig Lowbrow China Bisque Head and Arms Nanking Doll. Height: 17.5 (uncommonly large). Weight: slightly over 1 pound. With clothing (see photos). We sent the doll to Dolls by Diane for two minor repairs. The stitching attaching the right arm at the shoulder was coming loose, and was restitched. The string attaching the left lower leg was becoming unwound, and was also repaired by Diane. The doll now is in beautiful condition. Hertwig & Company, founded by Christoph Hertwig, Johann and Benjamin Beyermann produced porcelain and earthenware objects in their factory in Katzhütte, Thuringen, Germany from 1864 to 1941.
