Original Antique Doll – Made in Germany. This is a sweet little all-bisque doll by the German firm J. Kestner, “King of Dollmakers, ” to tuck in a loved one’s stocking or set aside as a surprise. It is sure to bring a smile to their face. She has blue set eyes and a very nice mohair wig. Her two-piece crocheted outfit is amazing — painstakingly made, including a full dress with buttons and an apron, and matching sweater/top. She also has beautifully made undergarments: slip and pantaloons. She has the distinctive Kestner molded/painted footwear that you see on most of their all-bisque mignonettes: textured stockings with blue line at the top and molded heeled shoes (red-brown single-strap). Such a Wonderful Find! Beautiful antique condition — from a non-smoking environment. No noteworthy issues found with the bisque after careful examination, other than a small chip at the hip, under the clothing. IMPORTANT: Besides the noteworthy issues mentioned above, EXPECT any antique doll (bisque/composition/leather/china/wood) to ALSO have: (1) SIGNS OF AGE – for example: toned/crazed/chipped composition, minor wig pulls, loss of “hair” lashes on bisque heads, not-so-tight stringing, etc. (2) MINOR CONSERVATION WORK by previous owners/collectors – for example: reset eyes in most cases! , repairs to wig, repairs to clothing, touch-ups on composition/finish/paint, etc. Any MAJOR issues — hairline crack, total repaint, etc. – would be itemized above, but these normal age/conservation details are not.
