He has the Gebrüder Heubach sunburst symbol (faint) on the back of his head, along with a mold number that is illegible, but seems to begin with 70.. According to Doll Reference. Com, Heubach used almost 10,000 different 4-digit mold numbers. Most of the pouty babies like this one start with 68.. He displays beautifully, dressed in his lovely white cotton baby gown, flannel under-gown, and diaper. He comes with the little pink rattle as well. Beautiful antique condition — from a non-smoking environment. No issues noticed with the bisque after careful examination. The body is in excellent condition. His underclothes are sewn on, which is why the body shots had to be taken as you see them. His stringing is a bit loose. IMPORTANT: Besides the noteworthy issues mentioned above, EXPECT any antique doll (bisque/composition/leather/china/wood) to ALSO have: (1) SIGNS OF AGE – for example: toned/crazed/chipped composition, minor wig pulls, loss of “hair” lashes on bisque heads, not-so-tight stringing, etc. (2) MINOR CONSERVATION WORK by previous owners/collectors – for example: reset eyes in most cases! , repairs to wig, repairs to clothing, touch-ups on composition/finish/paint, etc. Any MAJOR issues — hairline crack, total repaint, etc. – would be itemized above, but these normal age/conservation details are not.
