This is an antique German bisque-head doll made by Bahr & Proschild ca. She has lovely big blue glass set eyes (not sleeping), an open mouth with six teeth, original brunette mohair wig, and pierced ears with earrings. She is wearing an antique dress of a blue, white, and black plaid with lace, a large matching sash, and cotton pantaloons & slip. She also has antique shoes and socks. NOTE: Photo props not included: FURNITURE. Beautiful antique condition — from a non-smoking environment. No issues or restoration found with the bisque after careful examination. Her wood-and-composition body is in very good condition, with some areas of age-related wear. It appears to have its original finish and some paint touch-ups. The hands appear to have been repainted at one time. The eyes have been set; they do not sleep. IMPORTANT: Besides the noteworthy issues mentioned above, EXPECT any antique doll (bisque/composition/leather/china/wood) to ALSO have: (1) SIGNS OF AGE – for example: toned/crazed/chipped composition, minor wig pulls, loss of “hair” lashes on bisque heads, not-so-tight stringing, etc. (2) MINOR CONSERVATION WORK by previous owners/collectors – for example: reset eyes in most cases! , repairs to wig, repairs to clothing, touch-ups on composition/finish/paint, etc. Any MAJOR issues — hairline crack, total repaint, etc. – would be itemized above, but these normal age/conservation details are not.
