My usual basic description with all the needed details, none of the flowery sales pitch stuff. Please see pictures, ask for more if needed. I don’t see any marks on the head. I have learned this is a Highbrow head.. (She was previously listed incorrectly as a flat top) She was manufactured in the 1860’s. These heads were often made in Germany then imported for the American market for a commercial or homemade body. This appears to be a commercial one. There are no chips in the black hair paint or anywhere else. There are no cracks in the head. It is made of cloth excepts for lower arms which are leather. All seams are intact, there is no leakage. The way the legs are sewn on allows her to sit or stand. The leather has some scuffing and staining but it is not torn. She is wearing antique black stockings with silk ribbon garters. One sock has a couple of spots that were mended, the other has a couple of pinpoint holes. She has brown leather shoes with a bow on top. Both shoes and stockings are completely molded to her shape. I wonder if they are original to the doll since they are such a perfect fit. She has an antique chemise, full antique panties with a split crotch but the are not a matched set. She does not have a slip. The green calico dress also fits her perfectly but it is not antique or original to the doll. It is well made with finished seams. Black bias trim decorates the neckline, lower sleeves and around the bottom of the dress. It is hand sewn on. The listed weight below for full packing IS A GUESS!!!!!! It probably will weigh less. Many of these have been put together with parts bought separately over years. I describe to the best of my ability. FOR PACKING I USE CLEAN PLASTICS THAT CAN BE RECYCLED, NOT NEW PACKING MATERIALS. THE BOX/PACKING MAY NOT LOOK PRETTY BUT SECURE. THESE MATERIALS MAY BE PLASTIC MILK CARTONS, NEWSPAPERM EMPTY FOOD PACKAGES, ETC. THE HEAD IS WRAPPED IN EITHER NEW OR USED BUBBLE WRAP.
