Presented for your consideration is this antique doll by Simon & Halbig. This large German doll has a bisque shoulder head with a leather body and bisque hands. The doll has a beautiful bisque head with an endearing expression. Her brown eyes are on a good working sleep rocker. Her eyes are surrounded by well painted eyelashes and raised eyebrows. Her open mouth has painted darker outlines and exposes four little teeth. The back of the shoulder plate is marked with ” Germany SIMON & HALBIG ” The head is completed with the original cardboard pate and a very full original brown mohair wig. The leather body seems to be in excellent condition. There is an antique, one-piece garment that is sewn on to the body. Looking and feeling beneath the fabric there seem to be no tears or holes. The leather looks clean. The legs are pin jointed and it feels like one pin joint is detached on one side but the metal button is still on the torso. The lower legs are cloth and the socks are sewn on to the one-piece garment. The bisque hands are in perfect condition. The doll wears a darling blue dress with eye and hook closures, antique pantaloons and a one piece full slip. Her socks are antique. The boots are leather, but not antique. This gorgeous doll is guaranteed to be antique and would make a great addition to any antique doll collection! No cracks or repairs. The body is in excellent original condition.
