Presented for your consideration is this gorgeous antique doll. The doll has a bisque socket head with a composition jointed body. The body is jointed at the shoulders, elbows, wrists, legs and knees. Strings of the body are tight and the joints move easily. She has very detailed facial features which include large blue-grey sleep eyes that easily open and close, rosy cheeks, dimpled chin and parted lips to show 4 font teeth. Head is completed with a red-brown wig. The back of the head is marked with “Henrich Handwerck Simon & Halbig 6 1/4″ This marking means that the head was designed by Henrich Handwerck but was produced by Simon & Halbig. The body is signed on the side of the torso with “Henrich Handwerck 6 1/4″ in red ink. The doll wears a beautiful layered outfit that consists of a white slip, white bloomers, white underdress, and a white dress with a pink ribbon around the waist. Her outfit is completed with a matching white bonnet, white socks and black faux leather boots. She also has white faux pearl earrings in her ears. This beautiful doll would make a great addition to any antique or vintage doll collection! Some paint chipping is around the shoulder sockets. Paint crazing is present around the shoulders, knees and hands. No chips or cracks in the head. Two small surface cracks are on one shoulder. Otherwise, body appears to be free of any significant damage. Underdress has a small stain in the center and one button is missing on the back of the dress.
