Offered for sale is an antique German bisque doll by the Kestner Doll Co. It is the so called Gibson Girl. The doll is 20 inches tall including its wig. The blue eyes sleep with the original wax eyelids and full eyelashes. The wig is also original and shows not mohair loss. Any markings that are on the doll are not visible because it would be under the leather of the body. Dana Gibson the well known illustrator from the early 1900’s gave Kestner the license to produce these dolls. They were manufactured in at lest three sizes, and were often dressed in woman’s sporting outfits. This I believe was the largest size. These dolls are great surrounded by small German character dolls. The doll is in very nice condition. There is no breaks, cracks nor chips to the bisque on the head and arms. The leather is clean with nor leaking of sawdust. There is drooping to the two arms at the shoulders.
